Film : Les Quatre Cents Coups de François Truffaut, sorti en 1959.

Premier  film de François Truffaut  et de  ce qui  sera  appeléla "Nouvelle Vague",  son succès révèle  le  jeune  réalisateur  au  grand  public.  Largement  autobiographique,  le  film  raconte l'enfance difficile d'Antoine Doinel,  ses  relations  avec  ses parents,  ses petits  larcins qui  lui vaudront d'être enfermé dans un centre pour mineurs délinquants. La spirale dans laquelle le jeune Antoine  s'enfonce  est  décrite  avec  sensibilité mais  aussi  avec  fermeté. Le  spectateur s'identifie aisément à Antoine Doinel, avec lequel Jean-Pierre Léaud, acteur débutant semble se  confondre  totalement.  Le  désarroi  affectif  et  la  fuite  en  avant  de  l'adolescent  sont  de toutes les époques.

Film: The 400 Blows (Les 400 coups) from François Truffaut, released on 1959.

François  Truffaut’s  fist  film  starring  Jean-Pierre  Léaud,  Albert  Rémy,  and  Claire Maurier.  One  of  the  defining  films  of  theFrench  "Nouvelle Vague",  it displays  many  of  the characteristic  traits of  the movement. Written by Truffaut and Marcel Moussy, the film is about a misunderstood adolescent in Paris who is thought by his parents and teachers to be a troublemaker.
